American singer and songwriter Britney Spears is credited with influencing the revival of teen pop during the late 1990s and early 2000s. She is often referred to as the “Princess of Pop,” but more than the music, she made headlines for several controversies.

In 2007, the pop star experienced the most shocking moment of her career when she went to a hair salon in Tarzana late at night and shaved her own head off while the paparazzi flashed their cameras. Days later, she made headlines again for attacking a porridge with a green umbrella.

Britney Spears and her cousin drove through a Mobil gas station in Tarzana in a silver Mercedes. They were followed by a bunch of paparazzi. Even after her cousin Alli Sims urged them not to follow, the dads kept following them. The pop star lost her composure and got out of the car shouting ‘f*** you!’ screamed. She then even used her green umbrella-like ax and hit the cameramen’s car.

At the time, Spears was engaged in a custody battle with ex Kevin Federline. She’d driven to Kevin’s house hoping to see her sons, but he hadn’t opened the gate for her. This did not go down well with the pop star. However, the singer then apologized for her behavior.

Britney Spears took to the blog and wrote: “I apologize to Dad for a stunt done 4 months ago involving an umbrella. I was preparing my character for a part in a movie where the man never plays his part , so they accidentally switch places. I take all my roles very seriously and got a little carried away. Unfortunately I didn’t get the part.”

According to the TMZ report, the green umbrella Britney unleashed on a paparazzo was identified as Daniel Ramos. In the year 2017, Ramos decided to auction the green umbrella and announced to donate half of the proceeds to a charity of the pop star’s choice. Interestingly, it also marked the 10th anniversary of the infamous incident. When asked how much it could fetch, Ramos thought of selling at a $50k margin.
