The reveal from YG Entertainment says the music video for TREASURE’s new title track “JIKJIN” cost a fortune of 500 million won ($416,738). According to the company, such a budget is always reserved for artists who have already established their name in the industry, such as BLACKPINK. But this time, YG Entertainment is thinking outside the box a bit and has chosen to invest in a group of rookies because they have high expectations and hopes for this TREASURE comeback.

Lee Sang Yoon, who is the former production manager of Mnet and is known for some of the most memorable performances at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and BLACKPINK’s Lisa “Money”, who was his hit solo B-side, is the director of this “JIKJIN” music video too.

He now serves as the in-house chief producer at YG Entertainment. The company also revealed that it plans to increase the amount of content produced within the company using a more efficient system. Moreover, they are also eager to work with popular directors outside the company and simultaneously improve the diversity of their projects.

The agency also explained that for TREASURE’s JIKJIN music video, they used supercars that are worth hundreds of millions of won. They were added to enhance the song’s lyrics which invoke the instinct to run at full speed.

It is clear that the agency is doing everything to improve and enhance the quality of this upcoming clip. Tomorrow, that is February 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. KST, “The SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE” and TREASURE’s MV JIKJIN will be released.

TREASURE: a bit about them

The South Korean boy band debuted in 2020 and released “The First Step Chapter One”, their single album. It was a huge hit for the rookie band as it sold over a million copies. They organized their first “private stage”, a fan meeting, on October 2, 2021. It took place at the Olympic Hall in the Olympic Park.

They have gone through many stages in a very short time. And have won numerous titles and debuts in several world and national music charts. Additionally, they also won “Rookie of the Year” at the 2021 Seoul Music Awards.

The 12-member group was formed through a reality survival program titled “YG Treasure Box.” Now this new version which will arrive tomorrow has gotten a boost. It exceeded 600,000 copies on pre-order. Additionally, their first Japanese mini album of the same name is set to be released on March 23, 2022.
