The 25-year-old actor joked that he hoped he would be well groomed for filming because he was embarrassed that audiences saw him shirtless in the new action movie, femalefirst.co.uk reports.
After being asked by host Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small if he was nervous about his body being blown up on an IMAX screen, Tom said on the ‘Smallzy’s Celebrity Small Talk’ podcast: “I was hoping that on those days I could have my would shave nipples because I have the most embarrassing chest hair.”
Tom said joining the film’s cast – which also included Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas and Sophia Taylor Ali – was an “easy decision” for him, as he got to know the character while playing the video game.
He said: “It was an easy decision. The first script I read was fantastic. The character was someone I really liked playing in the video games, so someone I wanted to bring to life on the big screen.”
In addition, the “Spiderman: No Way Home” star also enjoyed the opportunity for a “new challenge” after the Marvel franchise released its most recent installment in December.
Holland, who is in a relationship with ‘Euphoria’ star Zendaya, said: “I was also excited for a new challenge. You know, it was incredibly hard to make this movie for all sorts of reasons, but it was equally rewarding, so it was an easy decision.”
The British actor thinks it’s “funny” to be asked if he’s ever been tested for Covid every time he gets smacked, because routine screening has become such a big part of making a movie.
He said: “It’s so funny, every time I get tested now, the person says, ‘Have you been tested before?’ Where do you think I’ve been, what do you think I’m doing?”
Holland assured that some tests are “more tantalizing than others” and that there was a testing clinician who nicknamed them “deep throat Debbie” on set.
