Showing some growth on Saturday!

Badshaai Do showed some growth on Saturday as 1 crore* came inside. This is a decent growth compared to the Friday numbers of 0.70 crores but again, that’s strictly in relative terms. When it comes to absolute numbers, the Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar movie should have collected better, especially since at least some states have started introducing easing, both from an occupation perspective and night shows. While the former doesn’t make any difference, since it’s not that the film is playing to a full house. However, the latter certainly helps to bring footsteps.

Harshvardhan Kulkarni directed movie is on 14.30 crores* now and after the second weekend it should intersect 15.50 crores* Certainly. If the film had remained consistent as of Tuesday, this number could very well have been close to 20 crores, giving a lifespan of over 25 crores which would have been a reasonable result for the film.

But for now, Badshaai Do’s lifespan is staring at 18-20 crores and the only consolation would be that the result would be better than Bunty Aur Babli 2 and Satyameva Jayate 2 that came out last year.

The real audience for Badhaai Do is on the OTT medium and it remains to be seen whether it will find good traction there upon arrival.
