Queendom 2 Lineup Has Been Announced!


The fan wait is finally over as Mnet has confirmed the lineup for Queendom 2! Queendom is an Mnet show where some of the leading female figures in the Kpop industry compete for the crown. The first season of Queendom was held in 2019 in which a magnificent competition between Kpop queens Mammamoo, Oh My Girl, (G)I-dle, Park Bom, AOA and Lovelyz while the show was hosted by MCs Lee Da Hee and Jang Sung Kyu. Vocal queens Mammamoo had trapped the final prize in the finale, and cult starters Dophin Oh My Girl placed second. Fans loved seeing the wholesome interactions between the groups and, of course, seeing their splendid performances.

In 2021, Mnet aired the male version of the show Kingdom: Legendary War consisting of Stray Kids (winners), iKON, BtoB, SF9, The Boyz and Ateez. Recently, Mnet reported that Queendom would return with a second season with a mystery poster. Since then, fans have theorized who the show’s contestants might be this time around. Bands like IVE, ITZY, AESPA, VIVIZ, KEP1ER and many more had come to the minds of fans. However, the wait is finally over as the channel has finally announced the Queendom 2 lineup!

Mnet finally dropped the bomb and said that these groups continuously topped the music charts and had great versatility and concepts. This time, Queendom 2 will have Girl’s Generation’s Taeyeon as the MC and premiere on March 31 at 9:20 p.m. KST. Let’s reveal the candidates in alphabetical order!

First up, rising girl group Brave Girls! Brave Girls had a miraculous year last year. Their song RollinRollin became a summer bop and brought polarity to the group, saving them from disbandment. Since then, the sky’s the limit for members Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna as they keep setting new heights!

Hyolyn is the only female soloist in Queendom 2’s lineup. After gaining popularity as a sensational member of Sistar, Hyolyn has gone on to pursue one of the most successful solo careers. She is now a composer who also has her own company BridÊ’. She made us all swoon for her in her latest comeback Layin Low. Come to think of it, it’s hardly a surprise that the soloist was announced as one of the contestants for the show’s second season!

Kep1er is one of the newest and most popular bands around! Monster recruits have devoured the world and left no crumbs. After forming the official lineup of the Girls Planet 999 survival program, the girls made their long-awaited debut with the extended game First Impact. Many people had thought that the group would not be selected for the lineup since they had debuted very recently. However, their popularity was to be at odds.

LOONA is without a doubt one of the most famous bands of all time! Consisting of 12 members, the girls are known for their satisfying synchronization while dancing and their amazing songs. Although their fans have been worried about the future of the group so far, things seem to be going well for them at the moment.

VIVIZ has brightened the day for heartbroken GFriend fans. Consisting of three members who were all part of Gfreind, the girl group is one of the best. The group had debuted this month with their first extended play Prism beam.

Finally, WJSN, aka Cosmic Girls, is part of the Queendom 2 lineup. The girls are made up of thirteen members who debuted in 2016 and are still going strong. On January 5, the Cosmic Girls made their big comeback with their second album, Yuppers Supper!
