Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who directed ‘Prithviraj’ starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar, has been awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award, the country’s fourth highest civilian award for his achievements in the field of art.
The director is indescribably humiliated and has dedicated the honor to the Republic of India.
Chandraprakash Dwivedi said in a statement: “I am deeply honored to be awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award. I have been fortunate enough to work creatively with some of the brightest minds in the Hindi film and television industry.”
Chandraprakash Dwivedi said: “They have enriched me, pushed my limits and made me better creatively. I share this huge moment of my life with all these people who have shaped me and my thinking.”
Chandraprakash Dwivedi, best known for directing the television drama ‘Chanakya’ and the critically acclaimed film ‘Pinjar’, has composed the story of the bravery of the fearless King Prithviraj Chauhan in his next ‘Prithviraj’, in which Akshay Kumar will play the titular role . The film is produced by Yash Raj Films.
The statement further elaborated on what the director has always tried to portray in his stories. “I have always been one who has tried to tell a story immersed in the history and culture of our country and I dedicate this award to my country.”
“This recognition will lead me to tell stories that celebrate my motherland in all its glory, such as my next ‘Prithviraj’ in which we will honor the bravery of one of the bravest warriors India has ever seen.”
Chandraprakash Dwivedi hopes his upcoming film, which tells a historical story, would click with the general public: “I had the pleasure of working with a towering actor like Akshay Kumar to write Prithviraj on screen and I hope that my compatriots love the film we made with great passion.”
