Minnie Dlamini is a famous South African personality, actress and model. Dlamini was the new host of the SABC 1 Friday live music show, Live Amp. Minnie married Quinton Jones in a traditional ceremony at Glen Hills in KwaZulu-Durban Natal in June 2017. The couple also had a white wedding and documented their marriage in a three-part documentary. This special documentary was later released worldwide as Mrs. Jones. The couple had a baby boy together named Netha Jones on November 13, 2020.

The couple were happier than ever. Minnie posted all the little details about them on Instagram. But Quinton was more of a quiet person who didn’t want to attract media attention. He hasn’t used social media as much as Minnie. Fans of the couple thought the couple could never be apart. However, things have turned out a little unexpected now that the couple is filing for divorce.

How did their relationship start?

Dlamini and Quinton met in 2010. The couple met at Urban Brew Studios where they first worked. Minnie said Quinton became her best friend during those years. She also expressed in an interview with Jacaranda FM that although there were romantic feelings between Quinton and Dlamini, they were never single at the same time. Over time, their feelings for each other grew stronger. When both were finally single, they tried their luck. They started dating and dated casually until first grade. However, on a vacation together, they made things official.

In 2017, their famous three-part documentary shot to worldwide fame and shared intimate details of their marriage. The documentary was narrated by Minnie herself. It showed her bachelorette party in Paris and her white wedding in Cape Town. In an interview with Anele on her talk show Real Talk with Anele, Dlamini said she thinks Minnie and Quinton have a unique type of relationship. She went on to say that they have been best friends for many years, so their communication is still very stiff and intense.

Minnie explained how she spoke to him like she spoke to her best friend. Minnie also explained that there are a lot of things newly married couples are still trying to figure out, but they’ve known each other for many years, so they don’t have to deal with that.

Why are the couple divorcing?

In 2018, it was the first time that rumors of trouble in paradise started to surface. This comes as a shock to fans, as it’s only been a year since the couple’s fairytale wedding. Rumors began to spread after the couple got involved in a heated argument at Cape Town International Airport. Someone shot the video and rumors started spreading overnight. An eyewitness said that every time Quinton tried to speak, Minnie would yell at him, saying, “Don’t you dare talk to me.” After so many rumors about their divorce, Minnie finally responds to the current news by tweeting that she is getting a divorce. then she fights in public with my husband. Don’t worry, it was just sarcasm. She said she’s not going anywhere no matter what lies people try to spread.

Dlamini and Quinton became parents on November 16, 2020. The couple named their first son Netha Makhosini Jones. They chose this name after Minnie’s brother, Khosini, who passed away in 2019. The couple’s relationship is quite solid and stable. Minnie frequently gives interviews about her happy little family and posts them on social media. It was in 2021 when the couple started having issues. On Tuesday, the couple posted a message on social media announcing their divorce. The post said that over the past 2 years their family has experienced incredible joy and devastating loss.

Meanwhile, Quinton and Minnie found comfort in knowing they knew each other. But, despite their best efforts to absorb the changes in motion, the emotional burden and post-traumatic distress of their individual loss overcame their will. The couple went on to say that after months of separation and consultation with their family and a counselor, they have made the decision to formally file for divorce. Their Instagram post said they would remain friends, business partners and loving parents to their son.
