Hello and welcome back to Equity, a podcast about the business of startups, where we unpack the numbers and nuance behind the headlines.
We had the full crew on board today, led by our superb production team elegance and Chrisand hosting the crew Mary Ann, Natasha and Alex. What have we started? Well, a bunch of pretty awesome stuff, even if we had to leave Cute Farming Robots in the tank for a few more days:
- We had funding rounds from Anyplace, which is building a way to make the digital nomads’ lives work in a WFH world, notes on Frost Giant’s Series A, which Alex really needs to finish, and Parthean, who treated Natasha and did a great job explaining . This is for better financial literacy in general. We need it.
- Then we talked about what Mark Cuban is doing with his generic drug game, which we think is both great (cheaper drugs for the people who need them!) and a little sad (how did we get here as a society?). Which, of course, led us to a conversation about public and private money, and the role billionaires play in reshaping society.
- Next up was a YC
credit unionDAO raising money from accelerator graduates to invest in cyrpto startups. So it’s a rolling fund for founders, right? Rather.
- MENTOR COLLECTIVE
And that’s the end of another busy week. Good luck in the snow when it comes your way!
