Nintendo’s online presentation, Nintendo Direct, had everything for all Nintendo gaming fans. And Mario Kart 8 was no exception. The novelties that Nintendo offers to Mario Kart fans almost resemble the new episode of Mario Kart.

This Nintendo’s best-selling kart race is getting new content called Booster Course Pass. The Booster Pass will bring some of the best courses from all previous Mario Karts games to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. All courses will be remastered for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

There will be a total of 48 racetracks in this DLC Pass. The Booster Pass will be divided into six waves of eight courses each. All waves will likely have two cups with four dishes each. The first wave includes:

  • Golden Dash Cup
  • Lucky Cat Mug

Golden Dash Cup

The Golden Dash Cup comes with four cards, and they are:

  • Parisian walk of Mario Kart Tour 2019 for Android and iOS devices.
  • Circuit of the toad from 2005 Mario Kart DS for Nintendo DS.
  • Choco Mountain from 1996 Mario Kart 64 for Nintendo 64.
  • Coconut Mall from 2008 Mario Kart Wii for Nintendo Wii.

The Lucky Cat Cup comes with four cards, and they are:

  • Tokyo Blur of Mario Kart Tour 2019 for Android and iOS devices.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC: release date

When will the new DLC, Booster Course Pack, be released for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? Are all classes coming this year? The announcement of this new DLC took place during the Nintendo Direct event in February 2022.

The new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC is not free but a paid DLC. The cost of this huge DLC, which looks like a new Mario Kart game, is $24.99 in the US, CAD 32.99 in Canada and £22.49 in the UK. Players can pre-purchase this DLC through the official Nintendo eStore. Players can also purchase the new Mario Kart DLC Pack at no additional cost if they have Nintendo Switch Online + expansion pack membership.

The first of six waves of new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC will be released on March 18, 2022. The first wave, as noted above, will contain two cups, the Golden Dash Cup and the Lucky Cat Cup, of four cards each. The rest of the waves will be released one by one until the end of next year.
