Demon Slayer is one of the most popular anime and manga franchises in the world. Last Sunday, Demon Slayer finished airing its second season titled Entertainment District. There were 11 episodes where we saw Tanjiro, Inouske, Zenitsu, and Uzui fight against Gyutaro and Daki. However, the season ended with Gyutaro losing along with his sister Daki. Daki and Gyutaro returned to their basic sibling bond in the final episode of Demon Slayer’s second season as they both neared death. Gyutaro then focuses on their lives as humans before all of that.
Gyutaro was harshly mocked and called ugly due to his family’s poverty. Although her younger sister had a better chance at a normal life due to her beauty, her brother was the only one left to take care of her and thus unknowingly taught her all of her harsh behaviors. This eventually leads to his sister, “Ume”, having an illustrious samurai’s eye slit out and being kidnapped and burned to death. Gyutaro discovers her seconds later and finds himself embroiled in a failed murder attempt. This is the time when the two are allowed to become demons, but their past demonstrates that Gyutaro and Daki truly loved each other as much as they have stated throughout the series.
