Filmmaker Shakun Batra is being praised for his latest Amazon Prime release Gehraiyaan. To promote the film, the director appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show along with the star cast, where the team shared some hilarious and memorable BTS from the shoot. Meanwhile, in a recent chat, Batra spoke about his experience with the comedy show and revealed that he had heard things about the show but claimed he was enjoying his time.

The romantic drama film features actors like Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa with Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in supporting roles. The film premiered on February 11, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.

Last week, Shakun Batra joined the cast of Gehraiyaan on The Kapil Sharma Show and in the recent interview with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, the filmmaker said: “Honestly, I hadn’t followed the whole show. I’d heard it was funny, and people said, “It’s low-key” and stuff. But I didn’t care.”

Gehraiyaan director Shakun Batra added: “I had been shooting for the past year and a half and I already had this weight. I had just delivered the film four days ago and the next day I still woke up with the weight of the movie. I went there with no expectation and there I just started laughing and laughing more. By the end I realized I had forgotten my movie.”

Later, the filmmaker claimed that while they were on the show to promote their film, the comedian was doing his thing. He said, “When I left I thought, man, I would pay to be in the audience to watch this. When I went home I was asleep and I woke up at 10 a.m., which has been two years hadn’t happened. I had woken up at 6:30-7 am with the whole fear of making a movie.”

“I think he somehow healed me that night with his humor. I really don’t know how funny it would be if it came out, but I just got used to it,” said Shakun Batra.
