In the show, Nandini leaves no stone unturned to cause a change in the lives of Ram and Priya (described by Disha Parmar) as she sows a lot of doubt and drama between the pair.
Shubhaavi Choksey elaborates on that, saying: “A shade of gray is not new to Indian actresses. The audience is changing and it’s no longer about straitjacket content. When it comes to choosing a role, I always look at the versatility and the space it has to perform.”
The actress who has appeared on shows like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’ and ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ says portraying a negative personality on screen was an opportunity for her.
“Playing a gray character like Nandini is an opportunity for me to constantly evolve and challenge myself. To seize the opportunity! In particular, I embrace the versatility that comes with drafting a complex antagonist role,” adds Shubhaavi Choksey.
Shubhaavi goes on to talk about how ‘Nandini’ handles the marriage of protagonists ‘Ram’ (Nakuul Mehta) and ‘Priya’ (Disha Parmar) in the show. “Honestly, ‘Nandini’ never really wanted ‘Aries’ to settle for ‘Priya’. It was under dire circumstances that this thought came across and to this day ‘Nandini’ is trying to find ways to get Priya back to her own home. Somewhere down the line she knows that ‘Priya’ is not the best match for ‘Aries’ because their lifestyle is too different and will never match.”
‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2’ airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
