Fact-Checking Policy

  1. Commitment to Accuracy At, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of accuracy in all our content. We employ a thorough process to ensure precision, including rigorous scrutiny, challenging assumptions, and questioning conventional wisdom.
  2. Due Accuracy Our commitment to accuracy is intrinsic to our reputation and the trust of our audience. “Due accuracy” means that we provide information that is adequate and suitable for the content, considering its subject and nature, while being transparent about any constraints that may affect this expectation.
  3. Credible Sourcing All our content is meticulously sourced, relying on available evidence and corroboration. We are committed to honesty and transparency, acknowledging what we do not know and refraining from unfounded speculation.
  4. Integrity and Plagiarism Our journalists uphold the principles of integrity and refrain from deliberate plagiarism, fact distortion, or misrepresentation, including visual information.
  5. Independent Verification We seek independent verification for claims, allegations, or material facts, especially those made by public officials or those with vested interests. Claims and content that cannot be corroborated are appropriately attributed.
  6. Accountability for Accuracy takes responsibility for the accuracy of the information it publishes. If errors are identified, we promptly correct them to maintain trust and credibility with our audience.
  7. Error Reporting We encourage the public to report inaccuracies via the “Suggest A Correction” section at the end of every web story. Our readers’ feedback is invaluable in maintaining accuracy.
  8. Editorial Review Our journalists’ primary responsibility is reporting, writing, and fact-checking. Stories undergo review by one or more editors, with the seniority of the editor contingent on factors like complexity, sensitivity, and time constraints.

Correction Policies While striving for accuracy, we acknowledge that errors may occur. When identified, takes swift action to correct errors, maintaining transparency and excellence. Here’s how we collaboratively achieve this:

For Readers:

  • Contact our editor-in-chief, Emilee Wentland, via email, phone, mail, or in person.
    • Email:
    • Subject: Correction Needed
  • Include the correction, issue date or number, where the error was observed (print, online, etc.), the reader’s name, and contact details.
  • Provide the correct information and its source if applicable.
  • Understand that submitting a correction ensures an investigation but not necessarily a correction.


  • The editor-in-chief investigates using the information provided by the reader, meeting minutes, recordings, and other sources.
  • If an error is confirmed, a correction is issued in all forms the incorrect information was disseminated.
    • In print: Corrections are printed on page 2A in the next issue, specifying the issue, article, incorrect information, and the correction.
    • On The article is corrected, and an editor’s note is added, outlining the inaccuracy and when the article was updated.
    • On social media: For online posts, we share a link to the corrected article and note the correction.

Communication with Readers:

  • The editor-in-chief informs the reader of the corrective actions taken.
