In February 2022, CD Projekt Red posted a detail for their next upcoming patch, Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5, to their Twitch stream. When will this new patch 1.5 be released? Will it come this year or will players have to wait? In this blog, we will discuss everything we know about the new 1.5 patch in detail. Cyberpunk 2077 is an action-adventure first-person shooter video game by Polish developer CD Projekt Red. It was released in December 2020 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Microsoft Windows.

CD Projekt Red first announced this game in 2012, but production began in 2017 with a team of 500 members. Cyberpunk 2077 is also one of the most expensive games of all time, with a budget of $313 million. The main inspiration for the game comes from the Table-Top RPG called Cyberpunk by Mike Pondsmith. Cyberpunk 2077 follows a mercenary named V, a custom-created character, along with their friend, Jackie Welles, who goes on a mission to steal a one-of-a-kind chip that is the key to immortality. But the mission doesn’t go according to plan, and the mega-corporation, Arasaka, begins to haunt V.

CD Projekt Red has been teasing for a while the release of its latest patch for Cyberpunk 2077, patch 1.5. Many leaks before the official announcement had indicated that patch 1.5 would contain the fixes and various performance improvements. CD Projekt Red has surprised fans with next-gen updates that come with this new patch.

Patch 1.5 fixes and improvements are huge. We will discuss some important things that have come in the new patch.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S Exclusives Update

  • Ray-traced local light shadow
  • Two new graphics modes for consoles, performance mode and quality mode.
    Performance Mode – Dynamic 4k resolution upscaling at 60 FPS
    Quality Mode – Ray Tracing enabled at 30 FPS.
  • The Xbox Series S does not have both modes and will have 1440p 30 FPS.
  • Support for adaptive feedback for PS5 controllers in patch 1.5.

New additional content

Players can now rent an apartment in Cyberpunk 2077. There are four apartments Northside – Watson, Japantown – Westbrook, The Glen – Heywood and Corpo Plaza – City Center.

Starting with patch 1.5, players can customize their default first apartment in Megabuilding H10 using the EZEstates website. He will also come with some customizations of V, such as hair color, makeup, etc.

Fixes and improvements

Patch 1.5 brings lots of bug fixes, quest improvements, gameplay improvements for Cyberpunk 2077. Now we will discuss some important ones.

  • fightEnemies will now have better AI to block attacks. New combat behaviors will come from the new patch like Reckless, Aggressive, Balanced, Defensive, and Cautious.
  • Crowd Improvements –Cyberpunk 2077’s mob system has been improved. Any provocation from V, such as aiming, fighting, etc., will cause some NPCs to enter combat. The new patch also fixes pathfinding, crowd reactions, and vanishing.
  • Driving – Driving mechanics will receive new additions like Burn Out mode. Various cars will come with steering upgrades. Motorcycles will also come with upgrades.
  • Vehicle traffic – Traffic will now react in dangerous situations, where it can, in a panic, kill walking NPCs. More reactions will come on certain actions like getting pushed around.

  • NPC – Sniper NPCs will attack by moving away from their targets, and the damage they deal will also increase. The new patch will fix T-Posing on some NPCs. NPCs will stay alive for a while after being run over by vehicles, but will definitely die if not picked up. Some NPCs can now break V’s melee guard. Rifleman NPC damage increased.
  • Vehicles – When V summons the vehicles, they will no longer spawn on top of each other. Hijacking other vehicles will not force hostile NPCs to stay in the car.
  • Quests – Non-essential holocalls are now discardable. The issue of distorted visual effects when leaving cyberspace will no longer be in-game starting with this patch. Various quest-related issues have been fixed or improved, such as a fix for quests not spawning during the Search and Destroy mission, a fix for Judy not spawning in the Ex-Factor mission, etc. The braindance sequence in the Information mission is now skippable.
  • Open world – The NPC crowd will have diverse looks during the day and night cycle. The repairer will only offer new gigs to V if he completes that repairer’s previous gig.

Patch 1.5 added a new appearance to water. New water animation, ripples and splash effects when interacting such as shooting or throwing objects. Added neon rims that turn on and off with the E key. New raindrop animations. Johnny Silverhand’s blocked subtitles in some missions will no longer be from patch 1.5.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5 Release Date

When is this new patch for Cyberpunk 2077 coming? Will he come this year or in 2023? The first official patch 1.5 announcement was in February 2022. CD Projekt Red announced the official patch 1.5 details in their Twitch stream called REDstream, which happened on February 15, 2022.

CD Projekt Red released the patch on the same day as the REDstream, February 15, 2022. The developers said the game will self-install the update on all platforms except for players using the PlayStation 4 version on PlayStation 5. For players playing on PlayStation 5 with a copy of the game from previous generation, players will need to manually download the library update.
