About Classroom of the Elite

The “Classroom of the Elite” series was originally released as a light novel series centered around the concept of the psychological thriller. It was written by Shogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaki Tomose. The light novel was published by Media Factory and dropped on May 25, 2015. Later in 2016 it was adapted into a manga series which was released on January 27, 2016. The manga follows the plot of Shogo Kinugasa but was illustrated by Yuyu Ichino. It was also released by Media Factory and an English version was released by Seven Seas Entertainment. The manga has been collected in 11 volumes and is ongoing so far. As for the anime adaptation of the manga, it has become popular among all versions. It was created by Lerche Studio and directed by Seiji Kishi and Hiroyuki Hashimoto.

The script for the series was given by Aoi Akashiro. As for the music, the credits go to Ryo Takahashi. It was licensed by Crunchyroll and Funimation for international broadcast, but it was broadcast locally on Tokyo Mx, TV Aichi, KBS, Sun TV, and other local networks. The series was released on July 12, 2017 and ended on September 27, 2017, giving 12 episodes in total. Since then, the creators haven’t shared anything about the sequel till now.

The plot of the anime follows the perspective of Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, who is a very calm boy. Our protagonist Kiyotaka has serious problems making friends and is very modest. However, what makes the difference in his class is his high intelligence. He enrolled in Tokyo Koudo Ikusei High School, famous for its 100% placement promise. But fate placed the assignment with Kiyotaka, and he ended up in Class 1-D, which is notorious for having all the problem students in the school. Shy and introverted, Kiyotaka ranks among all the bad guys in the school and stands between all the students considered inferior in intelligence. His perception changed when he met his two classmates, Suzune Horikita and Kikyo Kushida.

The Classroom of the Elites series hadn’t ended at the time of Season 1, and it shows through the ongoing manga series. After so long, the update regarding the release of Classroom of the Elite season 2 has been dropped on Twitter. The anime’s official page updated this tweet on February 21, 2022. As of now, the announcement has only revealed the sequel to the series, and there’s a lot of information yet to be disclosed. However, you all will have to wait a very long time as it has been mentioned that more information will be released by March 6, 2022.

Along the same lines, Kodakawa is going to host an online presentation based entirely on the anime. In this preview session, all upcoming projects like Classroom of Elite Season 2 will be released. Along with the announcement, two series actors Shoya Chiba who voiced Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, and Yurika Kubo, who voiced Kikyou Kushida, are slated.
