Chris Jericho, after spending more than two decades in WWE, jumped ship to AEW. He has always spoken out about the problems he saw in his former company, which is why he is still loved by his former colleagues and fans. Recently, he shared his honest opinion about the lack of prowess in his former promotion in creating new pro wrestling stars.

We largely agree with Jericho as Vince McMahon’s company has failed to create big crowd pullers. Roman Reigns would be the last major attraction the promotion spawned. It seems obvious that there are 2-3 old men carrying the brand on their shoulders.

Speaking on the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Chris Jericho said, “I quickly realized that I was sort of the face of the company, and the only man the national audience knew, besides Jim Ross, but the only man in the ring. They may have known Cody, not really. Kenny and The Bucks were a little more independent, or more popular in other countries. I need to make new stars ASAP.”

Chris Jericho went on to share that WWE is failing to create new stars while AEW is unstoppable.

“Cody is one of them. Kenny Omega is another. Then you go, and look at my first few shows, match three at AEW was with Darby Allin, and Jungle Boy was around that time. And then Jon Moxley, who had to be rehabilitated when he got out of WWE. Mox wasn’t Mox when he first showed up. He was still Dean Ambrose, some kind of crazy guy who wasn’t funny, who did everything they made him do. We had to make him a star right away,” he added.
