BBC Unveils Peaky Blinders Season 6 Premiere Date

Season 6 of “Peaky Blinders” is finally approaching, and the BBC has just confirmed the release date for what should be the last episode of the series. The ultimate season has been a long time coming, facing unfortunate delays due to the pandemic. Director Anthony Byrne has been teasing the release of the sixth season for a while. After hinting that the arrival date was close in 2021, the BBC finally confirmed the show’s return to screens on February 27, 2022.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of Tommy Shelby’s story and what its final chapter will mean for the charismatic character. There has also been a lot of speculation regarding other major hitters like Alfie Solomons. Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role once again, along with Anya Taylor-Joy and most of the main cast. A significant absence from the main cast this season will be that of Helen McCrory. The actor sadly passed away at the age of 52 last year.

Helen McCrory will be absent from the final season

After her tragic death from cancer last year, the absence of Helen McCrory will be a great sadness for fans. Helen played Aunt Polly, the matriarchal figure of the Shelby clan. Cillian Murphy recently said in an interview that Helen could have been in the final season if not for the delays caused by the pandemic.

Speaking about the late actress and her character, a spokesperson recently said Polly’s presence was felt by Tommy and the entire Shelby clan. “His influence is an integral part of the season,” added the spokesperson. Murphy also confirmed that the actor didn’t film any scenes from last season. “Helen was the heart of this show, and it was hard to do it without her,” Murphy said.

Hardy returns as Solomons with Stephen Graham joining the cast

On a happier ending to the news regarding the cast of Season 6, Solomons returns. After the surprising return of a supposed death in Season 4, Solomons’ inclusion in Season 6 had been questionable. That was until last month, when a ten-second clip on social media confirmed his return.

Along with Hardy’s characters, along with the other major players, there’s a new addition to the fray. Stephen Graham will play a new character in the final season. However, what her character will be has been hidden until now.
