Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed their deep sorrow over the passing of singer and composer Bappi Lahiri. Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and others also expressed grief over Lahiri’s demise.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi said: “Shri Bappi Lahiri Ji’s music was all-encompassing and beautifully expressed different emotions. People of different generations could relate to his works. His lively character will be missed by all. Saddened by his passing. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

Vice President Naidu said, “In the demise of Shri Bappi Lahiri, India has lost another veteran singer and composer. Bappi Da will always be remembered for his foot-tapping songs. My sincere condolences to his family and followers. Om Shanti!”

Home Secretary Shah said: “It was a pain to hear about the passing of the legendary singer and composer Bappi Lahiri Ji. His passing leaves a great void in the world of Indian music. Bappi Da will be remembered for his multifaceted character. singing and lively character. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his sadness, saying: “Deeply saddened by the passing of the famous musician Bappi Lahiri. He adorned many songs with his tunes. He had a fine and deep understanding of music. Bappida was also always aware of social concerns. My condolences to his family and fans at this hour of sorrow. Peace!”

BJP chief JP Nadda said: “Deeply saddened by the passing of popular music composer and legendary singer, Bappi Lahiri Ji. He will be remembered for his iconic singing. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
