‘Panchayat’ actor Aasif Khan is all set to play a completely different character that is more layered than before in ‘Noorani Chehra’ starring Nawazuddin Siddique and Nupur Sanon.

The actor becomes candid about his role and work experience at Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

About how he got into the role, he says: “I got a call from the associate director of the film and then got a little story about the film that interested me. Then we got a call with the director and we got detailed narration. When he told the character, the little nuances and characterization of the boy appealed to me, because I’ve never played anything like it.”

The actor who recently appeared in ‘Human’ and best known for his roles in series like ‘Jamtara’, ‘Panchayat’, ‘Paatal Lok’, ‘Mirzapur2’ and movies like ‘Pagglait’ and others shares that he is always enthusiastic to play different roles.

“My challenge and excitement is always entitled to roles that I’ve never done or the public hasn’t seen me in. This character and the movie are full of layers fabricated with romance, comedy, situational and social messages. This is what prompted me to play the part,” he adds.

Aasif was impressed by Nawazuddin Siddique’s work in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and regarded him as his role model.

He says: “After 2 years I came to Bombay when I was in a dilemma about my career and stayed in a chawl opposite Oberoi Mall. I saw the poster of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. I had no idea who Nawazuddin Siddique, Manoj Bajpayee is but went to see the movie. I was so captivated by the film and completely blown away by it. After that I also watched part 2 in my hometown with my friend. Since then and to date there is not a film or interview of him that I have missed.”

The film, directed by Navaniat Singh, is being touted as a quirky love story and is currently shooting in Greater Noida.

Expressing his joy at sharing screen space with Nawazuddin, he says: “He’s an acting institution in his own right. If you’re very searching, you’ll learn a lot from him, not only in acting, but also as a human being you’ll grow and evolve. He is a very beautiful person for whom there are no words.”

“On the first day of the set, when I had to perform a scene with him, I was so nervous, but he created such an energy and atmosphere that we’ve been rehearsing it for 2 months. So that’s the magic he creates. I get mesmerized when I see him between scenes and even forget my dialogues,” he says.

Finally, he shares his future ambitions and concludes: “We have one thing in common that we both like to improvise scenes. I would love to be part of biopics of my inspirations like Nawazuddin Siddique and Irfan Khan if I get the chance in the future. I have been an actor since childhood.”
